The film
An Amazonian boy goes upriver to find what is killing his river. He finds his own people: an Andean empire that history never conquered, industrialised, poisoning the forest in the name of progress.
Forty minutes. Sixty-seven lines of dialogue. A boy, a river and a pink dolphin.
He begins the film reaching out to a dolphin. In the flood he reaches out to a stranger who does not trust him. He ends it floating in the river, his grandfather's hut on one side of the frame and the empire's smoke on the other.

The series is a different work
Upriver also exists as ten episodes of about five minutes, published week by week and free to watch. The film is not their sum: it is another cut, another rhythm and another ending.
